1992 DeFever 63 Explorer Yacht

Leigh-Smith is proud to represent this beautiful 1992 Defever 63 Explorer Yacht, Miss Jane 11, for sale.

A true long-range explorer. A beautifully proven DeFever. And a yacht that has been seriously invested in for the next chapter of her life.

Meet Miss Jane II, a 1992 DeFever 63 Explorer Yacht built for owners who want to venture beyond the ordinary. With her classic lines, substantial displacement hull, and impressive range, she offers the rare combination of safety, comfort, economy, and genuine offshore capability.

Over $300,000 has been invested in major refit and mechanical works over the past three years, making Miss Jane II an exceptionally compelling proposition for anyone looking for a serious cruising vessel without the enormous cost and uncertainty of a major refit.

Her extensive works include a full hull sandblast, fairing and painting below the waterline, with both shafts removed, machined and fitted with heavy-duty dripless bearings and seals. The props were removed, X-rayed, machined, balanced and reinstalled. The cooling systems have undergone a complete overhaul, while the engines have received comprehensive servicing by a heavy-diesel specialist.

The attention to detail continues throughout the vessel. Heat exchangers were professionally refurbished, all systems pressure-tested and replaceable components renewed. A brand-new Westerbeke 12.5kW genset and new Victron charger provide dependable power, while an upgraded Davco davit crane adds practicality.

Up front, a substantial Rocna 70 anchor with 130 metres of 13mm chain provides serious anchoring capability in challenging conditions.

The watermaker has had all membranes replaced, while the electronics have received a comprehensive Raymarine upgrade, including new autopilot, dual 3D transducers and a deep-water dual-frequency transducer capable of delivering excellent readings beyond 500 metres.

For modern connectivity and security, Miss Jane II features Starlink, Wi-Fi booster, onboard cameras and an all-round FLIR camera.

And when it comes to comfort underway, she is equipped with full stabilisation, including both at-rest boom-type stabilisers and hydraulic fins for underway cruising.

Miss Jane II isn't simply a motor yacht that has been maintained - she is a serious explorer that has been substantially renewed.

For the discerning owner seeking a turn-key long-range adventure yacht, capable of taking you far beyond the beaten track in comfort and confidence, Miss Jane II deserves serious consideration.
