Leigh-Smith Yachts, Australia’s leading brokerage for new and used yachts, is thrilled to announce the opening of its new office at d’Albora The Spit Marina in Mosman. This strategic expansion, backed by three generations of marine industry expertise, enhances the company’s footprint on the east coast, providing a convenient local contact for yacht buyers and sellers across New South Wales.
The Sydney office complements Leigh-Smith Yachts’ established location at Sanctuary Cove on the Gold Coast, bringing its brokerage and new yacht sales expertise closer to existing clients and welcoming new owners into its network. Managing Director Ryan Leigh-Smith expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “Opening an office at The Spit was a natural choice. We have built long-standing relationships with clients across Sydney, and having a local presence allows us to work more closely with them.”
Sydney Harbour, celebrated for its exceptional boating opportunities, now serves as a central hub for Leigh-Smith Yachts, offering clients the same family involvement and personal service they have come to expect from Sanctuary Cove. Founded in 1964, the Leigh-Smith family business boasts a rich history that extends beyond yacht sales to include marina development and shipyard operations. The family’s involvement in Runaway Bay Marina and Gold Coast City Marina has provided invaluable practical knowledge that continues to inform its approach to yacht sales and ownership support.
Under Ryan Leigh-Smith’s leadership, the company combines its extensive experience with an active brokerage and new-build program. Recent Sydney brokerage sales have included the Sanlorenzo SX76, the Lloyds Ships 115 and Princess S75. The yacht portfolio now also features the well-known 46-metre Benetti, Mistress, recently listed with Leigh-Smith Yachts as Worldwide Central Agent. Inspections are available by appointment in Sydney before the yacht returns to its Gold Coast home. This further solidifies Leigh-Smith Yachts’ expansion into Sydney, offering a more hands-on approach and improved customer support for both local and international buyers and sellers, who also benefit from the company’s extensive brokerage listing portfolio.
The Sydney office opening strengthens Leigh-Smith Yachts’ connection with clients in New South Wales, linking them to the wider team and its national and international network. “For sellers, having a team servicing Sydney and Sanctuary Cove gives us a broader presence along the east coast, supported by our local and international buyer network,” Ryan added. “Our clients benefit from the knowledge of the whole team. Whether they are buying or selling, our focus is on sound advice, experienced representation, and personalised service, with the Leigh-Smith family directly involved.”
Buyers can now explore brokerage yachts and new-build opportunities locally, while sellers receive representation through the company’s presence in two of Australia’s largest boating locations: Sydney and Sanctuary Cove. Clients are invited to visit the team at 1A, d’Albora The Spit Marina, Mosman, Sydney.
