Leigh-Smith Yachts is excited to offer this 1987 NQEA 24-metre aluminium commercial passenger ferry to the market.
Designed by Incat International and constructed by NQEA in Cairns, this vessel is a prime opportunity for commercial operators. With over $2 million invested in a comprehensive refit scheduled for 2025, it boasts proven capability and immediate operational potential.
Operating under AMSA Class 1C and 1D survey, the ferry can accommodate up to 246 passengers plus four crew in Class 1C, or 295 passengers plus five crew in Class 1D, making it ideal for passenger transport, tourism, and commercial ferry services.
The 2025 refurbishment includes new twin MTU 10V2000 M72 diesel engines (749kW each), new gearboxes, exhaust systems, and a 45kVA Isuzu generator. Additional investments have been made in electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and safety systems, hull plating, fuel tanks, coatings, and selected passenger seating.
Cruising comfortably at approximately 24–25 knots, with a maximum lightship speed of 30 knots and a fuel capacity of around 13,000 litres, this ferry delivers impressive performance for demanding commercial operations.
Equipped with Simrad navigation electronics, dual engine-room FM200 fire suppression, and passenger announcement systems, this extensively upgraded ferry is ready for continued commercial service.
Ready to work with a highly motivated vendor, this is a unique opportunity not to be missed.
