44M ASTILLEROS DE MALLORCA
Classic elegance, generous living spaces, and a proven appetite for adventure define BERZINC, a 44.68-metre custom motor yacht built by Astilleros de Mallorca.
Originally launched in 1977 and extensively rebuilt at Balk Shipyard in the Netherlands between 2005 and 2007, she combines distinctive heritage with substantial upgrades to her structure, machinery, and onboard amenities.
Constructed with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, BERZINC offers 302 GT of volume and a layout equally suited to relaxed family holidays and entertaining guests. Her appeal extends beyond her classic profile, with long-range cruising capability and impressive equipment-carrying capacity opening up possibilities for owners who want to explore further.
Inside, bright living spaces create a welcoming atmosphere. The main saloon brings together comfortable lounge seating and formal dining, with light finishes contrasted by dark timber flooring. Large windows connect the interior to the surrounding scenery, providing an inviting setting for everything from quiet mornings aboard to evening gatherings. A separate sky lounge adds another retreat, giving guests the freedom to spend time together or enjoy a little privacy.
Accommodation is arranged across five guest cabins, with advertised sleeping capacity for up to 12 guests. The full-beam master suite provides a spacious private haven, complemented by versatile guest accommodation for family and friends. Separate accommodation for up to eight crew supports extended stays aboard.
Outdoor living is central to the experience. Generous decks provide space for alfresco meals, afternoons in the sunshine, and relaxed entertaining, while the bathing platform makes time on the water a natural part of each day. Whether anchored in a sheltered bay or exploring a new coastline, BERZINC offers room to settle in and enjoy the destination.
For owners with a more adventurous itinerary, her approximately 79m² aft bridge deck is a standout feature. Supported by a 2.5-tonne crane, it provides considerable flexibility for carrying tenders and specialist equipment. Her history includes extended diving expeditions in Southeast Asia, demonstrating the practical appeal of this arrangement for active cruising.
Twin 930hp MTU diesel engines provide a reported cruising speed of approximately 12 knots and a maximum speed of 14 knots. At an economical 10 knots, the advertised range is approximately 3,500 nautical miles, with fuel consumption quoted at around 120 litres per hour. Naiad zero-speed stabilisers enhance comfort both underway and at anchor.
Her ongoing upgrade programme includes a main-engine top-end overhaul, replacement watermakers and air-conditioning equipment in 2024. Further works in 2025 include new stabiliser fins, a new 2.5-tonne crane, updated navigation displays and an overhaul of the onboard monitoring system.
BERZINC presents an appealing opportunity for buyers seeking a yacht with character, substantial accommodation and the ability to support extended adventures. From leisurely coastal cruising to more ambitious passages, she offers a platform for an owner to shape their own experience on the water.
